VEDADO
ABOUT THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Vedado is a neighborhood in Havana that started construction in late nineteenth century and reached maximum splendor in the first half of the 20th century. Today it is part of the Plaza municipality.
Considered an urban development model, it was characterized by the harmonious combination of streets and avenues populated by trees, stately homes of different styles, being the eclectic style the most common. Its posterior evolution took it to combine buildings, theaters, restaurants, schools, public institutions that completed its urban plot without losing the charm of its avenues, and streets in which the stately homes of the yesteryear remain present. Today Vedado is constantly being rediscover by architects around the world that admire its beauty and elegance.
